I can't say it won't create... difficulties; but I've never been so pleased to fail at something.

[Because this is... this is good. That pleasant, warm, wanted feeling; a sympathetic ear -- he's missed these things. A month ago, maybe this would have felt disastrous, but he can work with this. He has plans -- ambitious plans, but workable ones. This is just a little extra motivation.]
